Overview

The 2020 Sexual Harassment Survey found that women, young people, ethnic minorities,
LGBT individuals, and those with disabilities are more likely to experience sexual harassment.  41% Black and minority ethnic workers have faced racism at work in the last five years.  27% experienced racist jokes or "banter" 26% were made to feel uncomfortable at work due to people using stereotypes or commenting on their appearance.  In this course we will explore how a toxic workplace culture come about.  How to identify it and eradicate it. 

Course Aims

Create a safe learning environment to explore the question: What is identity, and why we are the way we are.
Understand what is meant by workplace culture.
What's wrong with a bit of "banter?"How to challenge inappropriate language and behaviour.Understanding Microaggressions
How to create an inclusive climate

Course Content

Overview of legislative background
The types of sexual harassment - Physical, Verbal, and non-verbal.  More insidious behaviours.
Being aware of our own behaviours.  Our role as trainers in preventing it.  Setting ground rules. 
How to support those who experience it.
